A Word About Wheels
Conversation wheels and item interaction wheels, we can't live without them. But sometimes they're frustratingly designed, no? I really wish they'd be filled more thoughtfully, with an emphasis on us...
@TygerNight , I totally agree with you! 🙌 I have similar problems. I find that too many interactions are lumped under the "Friendly" category, which makes this category bloated and very difficult to navigate! 😞
For example, Get to Know is often buried several levels (or wheels) deep, often at the end of the choices, despite my Sim meeting someone for the first time! But at other times it is on the first level without any rhyme or reason as to why this has changed! 🤷♀️
Also, sometimes ;you will be debating between 2 interactions and choose one of them, thinking you will choose the other one next... only to find the other one has disappeared from all the level wheels entirely!😨😓 That means you have to click off from that Sim and restart the whole process... but that isn't a guarantee either!🤦♀️ I might have to do this 3 or 4 times! 😠
@PugLove888That's a perfect example! The wheel's choices randomly regenerate for no apparent reason! When dating, my most frustrating problem is with 'passionate kiss'; when the dating list requires it, it has vanished for no apparent reason when I had just performed that same action a few minutes prior! It's enraging when the options are not only disorganized, but continually move around from wheel to wheel or disappear entirely! Sometimes 'get to know' and 'deep conversation' are on the last wheel and I pause so I can click through 7 or 8 wheels just to find the end (I'm a habitual counter of everything... >.<), and then click through all over again when I've passed it by in one of its more unusual placings. The disorganization is severely exacerbated by the continual shifting of the items on the wheels.
ETA: I just realized as I'm having mom cuddle and rock the alien twins, that another incredibly annoying choice sits right on the top shelf, and I've nearly clicked it SO many times- "Return to Homeworld"! I've made the decision ages ago (parents have gotten 2 promotions each while they've been babies) that I was NOT going to do that! Constantly having it pop up in one of the first spots of the wheel makes me furious! I wish they'd let us choose, AT BIRTH, whether to take it home or send it back. I'm sick of nearly sending my beloved alien babies back to their homeworld on accident, and it's worse if I haven't saved very recently because I'll need to go back to the main screen and load a prior save to save my babies. GRRR!
Huh, in my experience, other than the first wheel in each category offering "helpful" suggestions, the rest of them are in alphabetical order clockwise. Is that not true for you?
Alphabetical? Seriously? WHY? And I can't confirm or refute this, but it seems impossible for that to be the case when I've found the same exact interaction on completely different levels of the wheel. If they were indeed alphabetical, they should NOT jump around like they do.
@wombatilim , I usually have the same experience that @TygerNight has, with the interactions often moving to different levels of the conversation wheel. So when "Get To Know" is usually on the 6th or 7th level, but suddenly shows up on the first level (for no apparent reason) it isn't in alphabetical order since it wouldn't move several levels like that if it was alphabetical, at least in my game. I do not have any Mods so my game is a vanilla game.
@TygerNight , yes, the moving around of certain interactions, and the disappearance of some of them, only to reappear for no discernable reason is very aggravating! 😖 Thank you for mentioning "Deep Conversation" as well 😇 , since that is another one that moves around a lot! 😓
I haven't played with Alien babies in a while, but I do remember having anxiety over accidentally clicking on the "Send to Homeworld" button! 😬😨 That is an excellent point you bring up! 💡
Yes, alphabetical after the first initial page of random suggestions.
Here's my first page in "Friendly" with its "whatever the game thinks is relevant" suggestions:
Then Page 2, where the options start to appear alphabetically clockwise from the top:
Page 3:
"Get to Know" shows up between "Enthuse about Vampires" and "Give Cooking Tips" on Page 5:
I'm not sure what might be different if that isn't how it works for everyone.
