See Nick's post how it's supposed to work.
If you're seeing something different. please repair your game through Origin. Also test on a fresh save to see if it affects existing saves for you only.
I test created one and the household thumbnail was with disguise. in alien form (sorry, confusion)
I didn't have the problem before.
Even a try with a completely new game state doesn't change anything - after repairing the game and clearing the cache:
I'm reading what Nick describes three weeks ago. I understand that aliens are now always displayed in their uncloaked form. What explanation did you mean? How do you manage to display them in human clothing. I don't like the alien shape in the thumbnail.
