@lizzy5675638, since CC/Mods are causing you problem you will need to find which CC or Mods are to blame.😞 Depending on how much CC you have, this can be a bit of a chore. 🤨
1) Move the mods folder to your desktop
2) Delete the localthumbcache.package file in the game folder
3) Fix you game in Origin by signing in to Origin and clicking on your Library. Then right-click on The Sims 4 and choose the option to "Repair game". Wait until it fixes all of the packs you own and not just the base game.
4) When you now turn your game on it will create a new mods folder that will now be empty. Check to see if your game works properly without your Mods/CC.
5) Now copy from your desktop your Modss and CC and paste it in the new mods folder. It is recommended to first past the script mods and check every time if you game is OK. Then do the same with the CC, If you have a lot, you will need to try the 50/50 Method:

The 50/50 Method is explained in a flow chart in the first spoiler of this post.
From there you need to make sure all the Mods and CC are up to date by checking with the creators of your Mods and CC. Mods/CC can break or become outdated each time EA releases a patch/update to the game. It is the responsibility of the creators to make sure their Mods/CC are up to date with EA, and it is your responsibility to make sure you have kept up with the Mods/CC creators' updates! 🤨
Best of luck, and Happy Simming! 🥳
