Anyone else having issues with dig spots not spawning?

I have been trying to dig up my own gems and metals. I have a spot in Newcrest and it has some that spawn each day. 

Here's the issue. I have seen forums saying to go to the Science Lab in Strangerville with the Get To Work pack but there are none there. I have tried many times and I am honestly having issues with about 95% of locations not having them. Including the Grotto Cave in Oasis Springs. I travelled to Brindleton Bay, found a lot then went to go back the next week (in game) and there was nothing there. I am having my sims travel all over but can't seem to find anything. Anyone else having this issue?

    So, I have been all over Oasis Springs and they aren't there anymore. I got them once and never again. As for the science lab. THANK YOU! People were saying Strangerville and it was so confusing!!

    Usually around  the park in Oasis Springs there are quite a few dig spots. The science lab lot that comes with Get to Work, is accessed when your sim joins the scientist career. It isn’t the science lab in Strangerville. If you have your sim become a scientist, there are dig spots there when at work.
