best desktops for sims 4
i really want to play sims 4 on a desktop, but i have no idea what to get. i live in australia and am trying to keep it as cheap as i possibly can, preferably under $800, any recommendations?? i want...
@jaydeeed $800 Australian doesn't get you very far, unfortunately. Most of the gaming desktops I saw were $1,200 and up, and the ones in the $800 range were generally the kinds of computers that would run Sims 4 on medium settings at most. However, I did find one for $900 that would do well:

This is a computer with a proper gaming graphics card, one that would run all current Sims 4 content on ultra graphics settings with some room to spare. You could install all the custom content and mods you wanted as well. Honestly, I'm not sure why this computer is so cheap right now; it would probably be at least $200 more on other sites.
If you want me to look for other options, just let me know, but they're not going to be in the same class as this one. Or, if you're willing to buy a used model and/or one from an auction site, please link me any sites you're comfortable buying from, and I'll take a look.
@jaydeeed Amazon doesn't have much in the way of decent options in your price range, even used, which isn't surprising: the refurbished models are typically less than $100 cheaper than their new versions. Gumtree gave me a headache—it's so poorly organized I couldn't find anything useful. But if you see something on the site and want a second opinion, feel free to link it.
I did see several computers on Ebay that would run Sims 4 on high or ultra settings, that is, if they are as advertised. A few of them are cheaper because they don't come with a Windows 10 license, so you'd have to buy it separately. And of course there's always a risk buying from Ebay. But if you're comfortable doing it:
These are ordered from slowest to fastest graphics card, although you may prefer a newer processor, or 16 GB RAM, or more storage, or Windows 10 pre-installed. (It's easy to install yourself; the point is the extra cost.) This is probably not an exhaustive list, and new items get added all the time. But it's somewhere to start.
And of course if you have more questions, or want to expand the search, please feel free to ask.
