When I get a career promotion, it says I’ve been promoted to Business Employee. This only happens when I have at least one hired employee. If I fire my employee and then receive a promotion, this message no longer appears. This issue started after installing the Businesses & Hobbies expansion. No mods, only cc skin and lashes.

Please move your mods folder to the desktop, delete Documents > Electronic Arts > The Sims 4 > localthumbcache, repair your game and then try again on a backup of your save to see of you can duplicate the issue on a game with no mods.
Bugs reported in the bug forum must be tested with nothing at all in the mods folder. Eye lashes have been known to cause a lot of weird issues.
Also, is it just the message that's off or are you not getting the proper promotion perks ? Could you add a picture ?
