*bug* Can't buy a small business lot

My sim has a small business running well on her home lot, but can't buy a second lot for the business. I have tried both the phone and the option under the 'Owned Businesses' panel. It asks me to select a season to play in and whatever season I select, the screen doesn't change and I can't proceed to choose a lot to buy. (It also asks me to select a season to play in when travelling but I can continue with that). I have tried repairing and restarting the game. I have no mods or cc. I am playing on an M2 Macbook Air. Any suggestions would be appreciated :)
