Can’t manually age up infants at all

Hi, I’m looking to play with aging off so that I can age up my Sims when I am ready. This has never been an issue in past gameplay, as once my Sims hit their milestones or I feel comfortable, I make them a birthday cake and age them up. However, I was playing with my latest family (with aging off) and I got my infant through every milestone available, waited and waited, and there was never an option to age them up. It turns out that you absolutely cannot age them up yourself without turning aging on and waiting the 2, 5, or 20 days (with short, normal, and long lifespans) for the option to then show up on their game-scheduled birthday.

This is game-breaking. We’ve never had this issue or block before, and that’s kind of the entire point of having the option to turn aging off. You can still play your way! So, I guess I am either here to beg for you to add the option manually - even if it means we have to earn all the infant milestones first - or someone needs to tell me a cheat code workaround. I’m genuinely upset about this because now I have to put on aging for every single family just to make sure my infants actually can progress at all.

Please help. Thank you!

  • I can't help you on the in-game options for aging up an Infant with aging off -- I haven't looked for those yet and would have assumed that I could bring them to a cake, like a Toddler -- but you have two ways to do it without aging up other households. One is to turn aging on for ONLY the active household (this is one of the ways of setting it up in Gameplay Options). If you use mods, you can use UI Cheats Extension to change the number of days within the age range that your Sims is and skip most of that added time ("Right click on the age progress bar to add/subtract the number of days that have passed at the current age stage").

The other is to age them up in CAS, however there's currently a bug with cas.fulleditmode connected to having extra traits, and selecting Toddler traits is likely to trigger it. It's a really awful bug that even spreads to other saves, so I wouldn't touch that method till it's patched.

You’re right!! I swear I tried that and the option wasn’t there. But I just did it successfully. Thank you so much!!
