Can I use steam expansion packs in a orgin version of the game

I don’t know if I put this in the right place but i have a lot of money on steam and I heard expansion packs game packs etc are on sale so can I get an expansion pack game pack etc on steam if I have a physical copy of the game which is therefore on origin or would I also have to get sims on steam which I wouldn’t want to do because I already have most the packs on origin thanks for the help

  • @katiecar1  You'd need to rebuy the base game on Steam first, but then yes, you could combine the packs.  The process for doing this is to uninstall the Origin version of the game, install it from Steam, then download your Origin packs afterwards.  When you played, both Origin and Steam would need to be running.

In case you're wondering, Origin also has frequent Sims 4 sales, so you wouldn't necessarily be saving any money by going through Steam, and you'd avoid the potential headache of having to deal with two game launchers.
