Can this laptop run The Sims 4 well? Specs listed!

    @shutupsamy  You should be able to play on ultra graphics settings, although you likely won't get a steady 120 fps if you have all the packs installed.  Framerates can vary wildly, for a number of reasons, but a 1650 ti should certainly be able to maintain an fps somewhere in the range of 75 during normal gameplay.  High-resolution custom content will bring this down, as will inclement weather, and the game engine can get bogged down from time to time even on the strongest hardware.  Overall though, ultra settings should be fine.

    If the performance is lower than you'd want, try disabling post processing, which can cause a large hit to fps at times.  (It also looks to blurry to me, so I've disabled it anyway.)  And you can experiment with lowering other settings if you want, but the better graphics will likely make more of a difference than the extra frames.

    As for how long you should keep this laptop, the answer is until you want to play something that could use more power and you're willing to pay for it.  Pretty much every year brings an improvement in graphics cards, so there's always going to be something newer and better.  But as long as you're happy with how your system is performing, there's no reason to go shopping.
