changing vacation rental to residential broke this lot?

tried to move my family to the Hillside Haven lot in Copperdale. Went to Manage Worlds, entered said lot, placed a Residential type lot from the gallery, renovated it to my liking. Loaded my family in Live Mode at the house they lived in and chose the "move household" option on one of their phones. They bought Hillside Haven & moved there. A loading screen takes me to their new house, everything loads fine. I go to Build Mode and realize that somehow Hillside Haven is still considered a Vacation Rental: the build mode is showing me business items as well as my business budget which is 0 simoleons and impossible to transfer anything to. I go back to Live Mode to see if I accidentally made my family buy this place as a Vacation Rental. They don't have any owned vacation rental properties in that tab. I go to Manage Worlds and my family automatically moves to Manage Households tab, where it says that they're all unavailable. It also says they live at Hillside Haven but there's no button to play with them on that lot. So I try to go back to Hillside Haven and make it a residential again. The lot loads but is stuck in this weird Live Mode but not really situation?? Looks like glitched Live Mode, impossible to go to Build Mode & the world around / time is moving. I tried to delete local cash file & taking mods out, both didn't work. Going to Hillside Haven in other saves does work.

@yanaoboiGuess it's differently broken that that issue then.

Would you be willing to share your save with me ?

If so, please zip your saves folder and upload it somewhere like dropbox, googledrive or OneDrive and PM me the link.

hey thank you so much for replying to my post and trying to help. my issue resolved itself lol! what i think did it: i moved my family from the manage households bin to a random house and i guess that unclipped them from technically living at Hillside Haven but not actually being able to live there. then i replaced Hillside Haven with a gallery lot and went to see if i could build there and it worked. changed lot type to residential, saved game, moved my family there: all smooth! funnily enough, all of the furniture from Hillside Haven is in my household’s inventory and all of it is doubled. so it’s like they lived there and moved out twice 😭 still not sure if it was caused by mods but i gravitate towards it being a game glitch cause even with mods taken out it still persisted. and i don’t have any moving / lot type / roommate mods to begin with. once again thank you for helping.

  • @yanaoboi Do you have a sell business button on the map for the lot ? If so, try doing that, then evict the family.

See if you can then enter the lot in build mode and change the lot type.

hey thank you for replying to me. where would sell business button be? can’t seem to find it, i honestly never play with buying businesses

  • i don't have that button, i guess cause my family is in the manage households tab? also visiting the lot with other families / trying to stay there / trying to actually buy it as a business does not work as well. either the house doesn't load fully and just sits there like a shell you cannot enter or my game crashes back to main menu and gives me error code 124:67bdc5e8:1e26265c
