Child sims not taking care of their needs

I have 4 households. 4 kids in one, 2 in the second, 2 in the third, and 1 in the fourth. 2 children in the first are not taking care of themselves and 1 child in the second and third households. Strange thing is, one of the children was taking care of herself until one of the updates back in early-mid September, and then she stopped. I do not have a mod that increases the household size because I find that to be useless. I go into CAS a lot and it deletes a random sim if I have more than 8. The kids do take care of themselves if their needs are in the yellow when I start up the game but as it progresses they just stop and constantly talk to other sims, especially other kids.

Yes I took the mods out and I was still having problems.

I tried this and no luck. There are two other things I want to try: uninstall the game and reinstall it after removing all mods, or wait until the next game update and take the mods out of my folder before doing the update. Yeah I just admitted that I don't remove my mods when updating the game, which is probably what caused this in the first place.

@crinrict Basically only their hunger, energy, hygiene and fun needs are usually ignored. It sometimes gets to the point where I get a notification saying that so-and-so is very hungry and that they'll be taken away if they don't eat anything. And they usually take naps instead of going to sleep when their energy is empty to the point where they'll pass out. Again though they do eventually take care of those needs, just not like everyone else, like their siblings and parents. All they want to do is talk to everyone else, and when they don't they just sit wherever they are for hours until they either have to go to school or actually do anything else. I'm trying to see if reinstalling the game without any mods will work, but my only hope is waiting for the next game update, because if none of this works I don't know what I'll do.

@crinrict 3 kids have modded traits and the 4th has an in-game trait. All traits are different from each other. I at first thought that was the problem so I changed the traits but it wasn't the problem. I may have to delete them and re-add them to the households. That is the last thing I want to try before the game updates.
