[CLOSED] [LLQE] [MAC] Game freezes when going to the lot to meet Royal Envoy

Every time i try to go to the Willow Creek library for the Lost Legacies quest, my game freezes right before/after it's about to load up. If I can't complete the quest, I will miss out on the rewards. This is on a MAC. I have also tried to replace the lot and it has not worked for me as a black box will cover the lot from the gallery in every lot I try to place it in. I have also went into the lot in Build/Buy mode and it won't work.

Trying to do the Lost legacies event but every time I go to the museum in Willow Creek to inspect the paintings the game completely freezes and I have to force quit everything. Is this a known bug or is it just me? Really want to finish the event before it's too late.

Don't know if the bug is related to the event or to the lot, I haven't been to the museum lot in months prior to this event. The freezing starts a few seconds after entering the lot and then everything is completely frozen, can't click anywhere or use any keys.

Playing on MAC, have not updated it to Tahoe. No cc or mods. Haven't had problems with freezes before in sims 4.

  • HI PaulStec

Could you please provide the following information

    • Are you using mods/cc in your game ? Please remove them and test without them if you do. Please pick a thread tag for that.
    • What platform are you playing on (PC, Mac, Playstation, XBox). Please pick a thread tag for that.
    • Did you have issues before the event ?
    • Does it work on a new save ?

    • AFAIR, there have been reports for Mac and the library crashing/freezing in the past. Can you test if it works for you on a new save ?

Tried a new save and It worked, sort of. The game still freezes in some camera angles, but I'm now able to turn the camera to a "non freezing position". I was able to finish the task.

Now the problem is when going to the nightclub, it freezes on the loading screen. I can hear the game starting again and the footsteps icon is visible. I can click around but I can't see any options or the gameplay, I can only see the loading screen. Happens both with the first save and the second. Should I try a third save? 😊

Update: the gameplay finally appeared after around 5 minutes, I asked Mixologist about the Royal Envoy and when zooming out to find her the game froze again and I had to force quit...

I removed the CC a long time ago. I am using a Mac. No issues before. I have also tried to replace the lot, and a big black box will cover the lot.

  • Hi PaulStec hahaenost

Hm, bit unsure if this is related to the Royal Envoy or the lot. There is another thread for the Royal Envoy freezing the game.

Do you only have issues with the lots the Royal Envoy is supposed to appear on ?

    No that's fine, thanks :D

  • Every time I try to travel to Willow Creek for the quests it freezes pm the load screen withing minutes and then crashes my entire desktop. I've even tried to travel to every lot in Willow Creek and it does the same thing every time.
I play on Mac and am playing vanilla.
    Please help.

Hi - I have no idea. I went to do these quests, and I can't even make it past the library challenge. Is there a way around it that someone might know?

I'm having the exact same issue! No mods installed either, and I've repaired each game add on. So frustrating!
