[COLLECTION] Blast From the Past: Issues with specific Tasks

I am supposed to complete "A Strange Visitor" with the task of "Introduce yourself to Emit Relevart.

I did introduce myself. And we are now "good friends". Unforuntuately I still have the task to do of "introduce yourself", which I cannot do, because it is already done, and I no longer have that option. So how do I proceed?

For troubleshooting, try moving the accountDataDB.package to the desktop. This should reset (some) progress and hopefully it works the second time round.

Items can be bought through the mailbox if you are missing them.

Known Issues

  • Make sure to use standard introduction to introduce yourself to Emit. Proper, Howdy, etc don't seem to count. If you already introduced yourself you should be able to either use another Sim or try in a new save game. You can do the same if you introduced yourself before you got the task.
  • Emit doesn't appear in the park: Make sure if there's another Sim just not looking like Emit (this is caused by Mods, namely MCCC). If you still can't find it, some folks have had luck getting him from the gallery.
  • The Museum task is off as there's no study interaction. Please see this thread for more details: Blast From the Past: Study Historical Display not appearing | EA Forums - 11888363 
  • Shards: Make sure to collect all shards with the same Sim.
  • Building time capsule doesn't work in apartments. Blast from the Past: Build the Time Travel Component not possible in apartments | EA Forums - 11889087 
  • Can't ask Elder about Shard: This one is mod related (namely TOOL). Make sure you keep your mods updated.
  • Week 3: Make sure to do the computer tasks as home on  a breakable computer. For issues with this task (tried at the library now can't repair, unbreakable), buy a cheap computer and break it (there are several means to do so depending on the packs you own. Suggestions in the thread). Once it's broken, repair it.

    I am having the same problem on the Introduce to Emit (I used polite introduction). I tried going back to my last save point, but the quest didn't go back to the same spot, it is still stuck on introduce. I don't want to change to a different game or household. As much as they have hyped the 25-anniversary events, they need to make it work properly.

    I am also having this issue. Emit did not show up in my main save. I wish there was a way to reset my progress to restart the event. I fear it might have been a mod issue so I removed my mods to play through it, but now it will not let me introduce myself to Emit, even in a new save. This is third time that these types of events have not worked properly in my game. It gives me a very negative impression of how this is being handled. The only event reward I wanted for this week is unattainable if I can't progress. I really only wanted the chair.

    0000Romulus0000  I had this problem, too. When I had to go meet Emit again, he did not show up at the park where he was supposed to be, and I could not invite him there by phone either - he did not appear in the list of people I can call.

    So I planned a Stay Over (from the relationships panel, "Plan Stay Over") - he did appear there. He came, I could report to him. (Of course, now I have to host him for a few days...)

    ohsoang  I could not introduce myself to Emit either. I solved this by switching control to another sim and let him do the introduction (the quest updated). Then I switched back to the original sim.

    The quest progression is not bound to a specific sim.

    I'm also having this issue. I already met the character at the park and introduced myself to him before the task came up. (I used a normal Friendly Introduction.) Now I'm unable to progress in this event. This seems like a big oversight. Anyone found a solution yet?

    I have the same issue. I used the respectful introduction and it didn't count for the quest. You would think EA would account for all ways to introduce yourself.

    (update) Ok kept playing and it auto updated and completed that part of the quest after continuing to play for a few minutes. Maybe its just delayed?

    Which introduction did you use ? Sometimes stuff doesn't work if you use a special introduction (like proper)

    As on how to re-do it, all I can think of is to cheat the relationship down and then not interact with him until culling takes over and removes it.

    EDIT: Didn't realize this was the event. You should be able to try in another save.
