Consecutive Days Login @ AHQ

Does anyone know what clock is used? I have my current time zone set in my profile, but when I log out, timestamps on my profile switch to GMT. Is there a way to monitor my current number of consecut...

@suzushka I got one of those badges when logging in right after midnight local time, (GMT -8), but I'd logged in earlier that evening when it was already the next day GMT. So for me, it clearly used my current time zone rather than GMT.

The count was always off for me as well. I earned each badge about 25% later than I should have, i.e. I got one for 250 consecutive days logged in 62 days after I got the 200 days badge. I have no idea why that was, but the badges did eventually trigger. And no, I never found out a way to track my progress, other than counting forward from the last badge I earned.

@suzushka From what I've heard, the blog posting was going to be a thing several years ago, but then it got put on the back burner, the person who was going to do it left or moved to a different job, and it just kind of got dropped. I have no idea about the reviews, but I suspect it's the same idea: an orphaned stat that's not connected to anything. My totals are zero for each.

And, um, did you say 250 days? I got my 365 day badge... in October... so....

Some might say your approach is much more well-adjusted.

Lol I have given up on trying to figure out the Badge system on AHQ. I have been compulsively on this site daily for the last six months but the highest badge I have received is 25 Days. For some of the other badges sometimes it seems like I am either getting them too early or really, really late. No worries, I am sure there is a reason why all this is happening. I am not overly concerned and I am certainly not complaining. I do like the badges and it's a cool surprise any time I get one. I figure it will all work out in the long run :D

I was trying to think of a way to game the system (like changing my time zone +1 every hour). Or automating the process of login. Considering how obsolete my limited coding experience happens to be, I’ve decided it would be way more effective to just give @puzzlezaddict my password!

@RandomBuzziness if the badge system wasn’t so quirky, it’d be way easier to ignore! I was surprised to get the 10 day badge and the easter egg. it took 109 XP to earn the 100 XP badge. I still have no idea what I did to earn the triple threat. And I definitely need to brainstorm more productive outlets to keep my problem solving skills sharp. Maybe tomorrow. lol. (And may the fourth be with you, too!)

  In a previous post (#6), and mainly in jest, I spitballed a couple hypothetical hacks. Thought I’d follow up for the sake of the hypothetical intrepid forum explorers that may stumble across this post in the future (and kudos to you rare, wonderful creatures who use the search function).

  I actually tested the one quoted above. either the premise is a nonstarter or I was lazy with my logic (i.e. +1 vs -1), but I’m fairly certain I actually broke my chain of consecutive days in the process of experimentation (i.e. mucking around with my time zone setting). My opinion, fwiw: cost:benefit doesn’t warrant confirmation of my results - you’ll save more time by not trying this one.
