Hello I'm popping in to let you know there's an Unflirty trait that came with City Living. I'm ace (not aro) and I feel this partially suits me, though I do feel romantic attraction. Perhaps this is what you're meaning by the Aromantic trait? I've used Unflirty sims in the past and I can tell you it is hard for them to get flirty. The only time I've managed it is by drinking the Romance Festival drink where it lasts for like 5 seconds before the Unflirty trait kicks back in.
I also agree about the need for a greater gender identity expression.
