Digital Deluxe Content on Official Sims is a Problem

I don't own Digital Deluxe, and it has happened SEVERAL times that official sims come with clothes from Digital Deluxe. So when I play them or meet them in the neighbourhood they may be in only their undergarments. This is not a bug. The items are missing because I don't own Digital Deluxe. If I go into CAS I get a message about removed items.

These are some examples of affected sims:

- Vanessa Jeong (Get Famous), I think she's missing a bikini bottom (she has the standard salmon coloured panties, but a black and blue bikini top)

- Baby Ariel (Get Famous), her formal dress is missing

- Kayla Flemming (Get Famous), the same missing formal dress as Baby Ariel

- Mark Eggleston (StrangerVille), missing his party outfit

And I know there are more official sims out there with the same problem, though I don't remember who they are.

Because of this I have two suggestions for the Maxis team:

- To NEVER EVER use Digital Deluxe items on official sims. EVER. Though, then you need to add a tag on the Digital Deluxe items in CAS, and put Digital Deluxe as a stuff pack on the main screen.

- To make Digital Deluxe into a free update. Which seems like the more reasonable of my two suggestions, in my opinion, because some of the items are already in the base game or in other packs already, for example, I have the animal hats even though I don't have Digital Deluxe. It also seems reasonable because there are already official sims wearing Digital Deluxe clothes.

I mean, as it is today it would be as if an official sim from one pack came with clothes from another pack. We shouldn't need to buy Digital Deluxe just to use official sims without fixing them in CAS.

Btw, at first I didn't understand why Baby Ariel's, Kayla's and Mark's clothes didn't work/appear. I even was in contact with support because I thought items had gone missing in my game. Finally I got my answer in this forum.

Edit: Here are Baby Ariel's and Mark's clothes from Digital Deluxe. These are not my pictures (well, I don't have these clothes in my game, so there's no surprise there), I got the pictures from a thread in this forum a while back.

As I wrote earlier clothes used in a pack ships with that pack if they are not basegame items. Repairing the game should insure you have all the required items.

@jpkarlsen Which part of “Baby Ariel’s formal dress is from Digital Deluxe” do you not understand?

@crinrict, hi, I wonder if this is something that the SimGurus needs to know about, because I really think it's a problem that they give official sims clothes from Digital Deluxe.

@crinrict I wasn't completely sure which simguru(s) to write to, but I ended up writing to SimGuruNinja, SimGuruFrost, SimGuruNick, and SimGuruRomeo on Twitter on 23rd of December. None of them have answered yet. :/

@SqueamishNerd, it is possible that they might consider your suggestion without answering you. But even if they were to answer you, the day before the Holidays start isn't the best time to get an answer back. I wouldn't have expected an answer until this week, at the earliest. But even if you don't get an answer doesn't' mean that what you said isn't being considered. Especially since this would clear up a lot of confusion with the Digital Deluxe and Base Game stuff. 😇
