Whenever I try to use furniture from dream home decorator the game freezes and kicks me out of the game. This has not happened with any other add-on for sims 4 but only with dream home decorator pack...

If you use mods/cc,try moving the whole mods folder to another place, delete the localthumbcache.package and then test to see if the issue remains without mods/cc there.
If this doesn’t help with the issue, try resetting your sims 4 folder and testing in a new save game, and see if the issue remains.
