Easier menu for locking doors/gates

Following an on-going bug where locking doesn't seem to work anymore (at least for pets, see this thread), I was thinking about the ranch hand chores menu. That one is easy to navigate and clearly shows what the ranch hand will and won't do. Can't we have this same menu for the lock options on doors/gates? That would make everything much easier to set up and you can clearly see the currently applied lock settings.

In the current way, you click "lock for all pets" but it's not clear if that is really ALL pets (incl horses?) or not and if you forgot your lock settings, you can't check back what is the current setting. Changing to below menu would solve that issue.

Glad to see this topic as a discussion. The locking menu is quite big for players who own a lot of packs. I would like to introduce an option for a pop-up dialog menu for more fine-tuned locking. This method would require less clicking and less navigating, creating a more user-friendly method for locking doors and gates.

The pop-up box would offer options to

    • Apply to All Doors
    • All Gates

A pop-up dialog box would also clearly display which options have been assigned for each door/gate. Currently our choices, when including all packs, have become quite long and cumbersome. The current pie-menu doesn't specify which options have been assigned.

As of now, our locking applies to:

    1. Everyone
    2. Everyone But [NAME]
    3. Everyone But Household Members
    4. Everyone But Employees
    5. Everyone But Butler
    6. Everyone But Ranch Hand
    7. All Pets
    8. All Cats
    9. All Dogs
    10. All Livestock
    11. All Chickens
    12. All Cows and Llamas
    13. All Mini Sheep
    14. All Mini Goats
    15. All Horses

Creating a dialog pop-up option menu allows for growth and specificity. We could then include additional options for:

    1. All Infants
    2. All Toddlers
    3. Specific Sim... (opens new dialog pop-up)

    Thank you for your consideration.
