Error Code 109:e56fc6bb:c8a07c87 creating "ghost" lots.

Product: The Sims 4
Platform:PC
Which language are you playing the game in? English
How often does the bug occur? Every time (100%)
What is your current game version number? 1.111.102.1030
What expansions, game packs, and stuff packs do you have installed? All EPs, all GPs, and all SPs.
Steps: How can we find the bug ourselves? Load any of the effected worlds.
What happens when the bug occurs? Lots on corrupted world maps will throw error code 109:e56fc6bb:c8a07c87
What do you expect to see? The lots should load.
Have you installed any customization with the game, e.g. Custom Content or Mods? Yes
Did this issue appear after a specific patch or change you made to your system? Neutral/Not Sure

I've slowly noticed that world maps are becoming unloadable. It started with Willow Creek but has now bled into Selvadorada, Magnolia Promenade, and Evergreen Harbor.

So, the map itself will load and all of the lots are visible on the map. However, if I try to load one of the lots on the corrupted maps I will either get stuck in an endless loading cycle or I'll get the dreaded 109 error code (specifically 109:e56fc6bb:c8a07c87).

If I look at the lot details of the effected lots, the price of the lot will show the land value as if the lot were completely empty even though there are massive buildings on the lot.

For example, there is no way that the massive grocery store circled in the image above has a price of only $4.500.

I do play with a ton of mods, however, I've consistently played with more or less the same mods for over a year. This map corruption has only popped up in the last 2-3 months. I did remove my mods folder to see if this fixes the issue and it doesn't, so it's definitely not mods related.

I have very much come to accept that I will have to abandon this save and/or do a complete reinstall of the game at some point...but before I do, I wanted to at least see if there's a way to salvage these lots so that I can save them to the gallery.

  • A couple questions to rule stuff out

    1. If you load into the lots in build mode do you see the correct lot value?

    2. What happens when you test without mods? (don't forget to make a backup of your save, delete the localthumbcache file and repair game after removing mods, then test)

    3. Could it be just that your map replacement mod is outdated? I don't know much about these but it seems possible that a map replacement mod could cause map visual issues

    4. There was an old issue with this error code when lots had the off the grid trait. Does removing the off the grid lot trait from any lots in the world fix it? (there are some lots in Evergreen Harbor that come with this trait I think)

Do you have any LastException files in Documents\Electronic Arts\The Sims 4 ?

Best is to delete the ones you have, then trigger the error and check if new ones are created.

If that is the case, please upload them to a new post in this thread.

Please either create a .rar file to upload or copy/paste the content into your post.

Deleting the file won't fix your issue. Uploading the file is meant for troubleshooting.

    1. That's the thing, I cannot load any of the lots...even in Build Buy mode. Doing so will give me the 109* error.

    2. I have tested without mods and done a game repair. The issue is still there.

    3. Tested without mods.

    4. I've never intentionally used the Off the Grid trait and all buildings in my current version of Evergreen Harbor are custom builds, so that lot trait shouldn't be around anymore.

EDIT: Upon retesting it appears that attempting to load a residential lot in Evergreen Harbor will generate the 801 error code and attempting to load a non-residential lot will yield the 109 error mentioned in the OP.

So this appears to be tied to the dreaded For Rent bug.

Attached in the .rar are two LEs:

    1. An LE generated by the 801 error code from attempting to edit a residential lot from Manage Worlds
    2. An LE generated by the 109 error code from attempting to edit a non-residential lot from Manage Worlds.

After some digging, I was able to find a backup save from July where the lots in Evergreen Harbor were all functioning. Apparently the map has been corrupted for quite some time and I've never noticed until this week. Would sending the pre and post corruption saves be useful as well?
