Exit through window?

I am fairly new to the expansion Highschool Years and much to my surprise dicovered, that teenage sims can wish to exit through the window, if they have the trait: Being a teenager. For the life of me I can't get this to happen. I place a special window, called easy exit window, and the possibility to go through it doesn't appear. What am I doing wrong?
