This is a really strong point, and especially so for the Simmers who don't come from the American culture and have to import their own meaningful holidays and events into each save individually.

Yesh, exactly what @Strangelovekraft said. It's a representation issue.
I've seen Australian Simmers turn Winterfest into Summerfest, throw New Year's Eve parties in the summer, etc.... but they would have to set that up in every save. My Wiccan pal and I set up our own religious holidays in every save. Maybe someone wants Gay Pride or Juneteenth or Cinco de Mayo in every save. And Simmers from India or Brazil or (insert country) want their own meaningful holidays in each save.
Sims team, modders, anyone? it would rock!

Yes, national and religious holidays from around the world would benefit greatly if this feature was added. Not to mention holidays that we make up on our own that we really enjoy having in our game! 🤪😂 There are a lot of creative holidays we can make, so it is a shame that our favorites have to be constantly recreated and added. But yes, since there are so many holidays that exist in various cultures around the world , it would be great to have a way to easily copy them from one save to another! 🥰
- @xochiquetzl_xkvn it would be great to also have a feature that you could set the calendar to "northern hemisphere" or "southern hemisphere" and that basically it kept the current events and just flipped it automatically depending on which hemisphere you set it to - that could be a good starting point.
@xochiquetzl_xkvn Yes please! This would save soooo much time setting up a new game. It's not just about extending my preferred holidays but also removing the pre-made ones from one game to the next. I don't always remember to check the calendar and I absolutely despise "neighborhood brawl" and "prank day". Thanks for sharing!

UGH, Neighborhood Brawl! I always forget to delete it, but I hate it, too, and never let my Sims celebrate it.
I might create an empty save with nothing in it but my holidays and use that as a "base" to create new saves in the future.
(How I would do that: Create household as required with random Sim. Move them into an empty lot. Set up holidays as desired. Evict and mark unplayed. Save. Exit to main menu. Name something like "template" or "default holidays." Future saves would be launch this save and immediately Save As with a new name so as to leave the template untouched.)

@Thats_Me_Madz , I agree that it would be wonderful to be able to set your calendar to North or South Hemispheres! Great idea!😃
@JonaO703 and @xochiquetzl_xkvn , I also hate the Neighborhood Brawl holiday! 😖 And I also often forget to delete it in new saves! 🤦♀️😅
@xochiquetzl_xkvn , nice idea to make a save file as a template for holidays! 💡😎 - xKindredxSoulsx2 years agoNew Adventurer@xochiquetzl_xkvn This is a the standard and only work around since EA somehow did not realize we might want to copy our calendar between saves. Unfortunately the trouble is doing this does nothing for pre-existing saves if you decide to revamp your calendar. It's really unfortunate and not something EA or modders seem likely to fix from the looks of it. It's really a shame they didn't make the calendar a separate file like your settings is. I would have preferred to keep back up copies for any saves that used a different calendar and just plunk the file in and out. Maybe this approach isn't possible because some things are tied to closely to the households in the save file somehow.
