A lot better than that, not a nasa computer though due to not upgrading yet (it isn't time to upgrade, waiting on next gen CPUs and GPUs so the upgrade will be noticeable, that's right I'm waiting till we can install Skynet 🥳 ).

It really should be up to us to decide what we think we can deal with in settings. Some people don't even mind low fps, and there's a mod to deal with simulation lag.

  • @khitteh Those specs are the minimum standard EA has put forth that's required to play this game. You can also still play on PS4. The PS4 came out in 2013.

Because those are the standards, that's what the software must be written too.

I dont know a single game on the market that has different operating features (with the exception of better FX settings) for better built computers.

Because EA allows mods in game, they are essentially allowing you decide what level you want to push your computer past minimum requirements. But you do so, at your own risk.

Until Sims 5 comes out, you will not see any better software written for better computers.

No I think if you played other games you would realise that games have settings where you choose textures  etc according to what your own computer can handle, with low spec computer owners needing to choose potato textures etc so their low spec computer can play the game without lagging and crashing.

No reason there shouldn't be settings for low spec computers and settings for high spec computers in Sims 4, in fact there already are such settings where numbers of sims allowed in game at one time can be set to "unlimited" if your computer can handle it. Or set really low for the potato PCs, consoles, and laptops you mentioned.

An additional setting for allowing maximum simultaneous sims to show in Residential Rentals could be added to the settings menu so that people could choose to set their  own personal limits depending on their computer hardware capabilities.

Would be interesting to know on what lot with which lot traits and with how many Sims in their own household people are playing that experience this problem.

So maybe you already have 8 Sims in your household, the neighborhood you are in spawns some vendors and you also have a bunch of stray cats on your lot. Then there are probably not many Sims left from the 20 Sims limit that can be used for tenants...

I'm not saying that this would be an excuse for the feature not to work, but it could be a possible reason.
