game not loading/manage worlds and gallery not working

Steps: How can we find the bug ourselves? I have tried uninstalling and reinstalling the game. I have started a new game, I have cleared the cache in the EA app, I repair the game under the manage tab. I restart my computer, my software is up to date.
What happens when the bug occurs? Anytime I try to place lots in the worlds via manage worlds, the gallery becomes frozen and the game goes unresponsive. Now my game will not load at all.
What do you expect to see? I go to manage worlds, start placing lots in Newcrest, the gallery freezes, and the game becomes unresponsive.
Have you installed any customization with the game, e.g. Custom Content or Mods? Not now. I've removed them.
Did this issue appear after a specific patch or change you made to your system? Yes
Please describe the patch or change you made. After the patch for life and death was released.

I go to manage worlds, start placing lots in Newcrest, the gallery freezes, and the game becomes unresponsive. Anytime I try to place lots in the worlds via manage worlds, the gallery becomes frozen and the game goes unresponsive. Now my game will not load at all. I have tried uninstalling and reinstalling the game. I have started a new game, I have cleared the cache in the EA app, I repair the game under the manage tab. I restart my computer, my software is up to date.

  • I have been having issues with my game since the latest update in October. I play on PC, I do not have any mods or cc. Anytime I attempt to place lots in worlds from the gallery my game freezes. I have been clearing the cache in the EA app and repairing the game. I have even at one point uninstalled and reinstalled the game and started a new game. The problem has now gotten worse as my game will not load at all.

    Try the following

    • Close the game
    • Rename Documents\Electronic Arts\The Sims 4 to Documents\Electronic Arts\The Sims 4_Old
    • Repair the game
    • Start the game. All your content will be gone now as the game created a new folder. All your saves/.. is still in the old folder so not to worry. 
    • Start a new save game
    • Check if you still have the error
    • Report back with your results for further steps on how to get your stuff back.

    If this doesn't help, do you always download the same lots ? There are a few causing issues.
