Game refusing to run no matter what I do

I just bought the newest expansion yesterday and attempted to boot up my game only to be in a loading screen for almost an hour after pressing resume game. I then made sure any mods I used in the past (which haven't been active in months, since before lovestruck) were deleted just in case and the game still wouldn't load. After that I backed all my files and uninstalled and reinstalled my game and placed my backups in and then the game refused to even launch. So I decided to repair the files in hopes I messed something up but even after repairing the files and making sure I did the right steps in making sure the backups were correct the game still refused to launch. Currently I have saved my backups once again and uninstalling and reinstalling to try and launch the game without the backups in case its my game files. But If this doesn't work I am unsure what to do. It seems no one else seems to be having this issue but before installing the expansion pack my game worked just fine like a week or two ago when I was playing and now I can't even open my sims...I really don't want to lose all my progress in the sims but I am stumped on what to do to resolve this issue besides potentially having to lose my legacy save.

    Endless loading has so many causes. Could you please provide the following inf

    • What platform are you playing on ?
    • Does it work on a new save ?
    • Does it load to the map if you click on reload instead of resume

       

       

    • Do you have any LastException files in Documents\Electronic Arts\The Sims 4 ?

      - Delete the ones you have
      - Trigger the error again
      - Check if new ones are created
      - If that is the case, please copy/paste the content here. You can open the file with any text editor.


      Deleting the file won't fix your issue. Posting the info is meant for troubleshooting.

    Pc/ Ea launcher

    After reinstalling and reloading the game, the resume function doesn't work still, however just pressing load game does. I tested out a new save as well and when it put me into cas I wasn't able to add traits however when loading my usual game and then creating a brand new sim in that file the traits were there so I am not sure what was going on with that but it seemed like a one off glitch hopefully. 

    I also deleted the last exceptions as you suggested and checked if any new ones were made after resuming and there didn't seem to be any after reattempting resume game, just the endless loading time but that may be because I hop from household to household so often? I'm not sure but the game works fine so far from just loading the last save over pressing resume game.

    Hi 

    the trait issue is known and has a thread here: Unable to select traits in CAS | EA Forums - 4949337. It seems pretty random.

    As for your save, there's so many reasons for that.

    Could you test the following things

    • Do any lot give you loading issue or only a particular family ?
    • If it's only one family, try moving them to a different house to see if they load there
    • Also test another family on that lot to see if that loads.

    The last two steps are to find out if it's the family or the lot that's causing issues.

    Report back with your results.
