@Simsfan8989 It would be more than okay, especially with the upgraded components you want. Feel free to link me the configuration before you order, so I can look it over.
For what it's worth, you'd save £180 by going with the other case (same components as before):
But it's your call.
Hello 🙂
ive had a look,
what about this...
Please could you have a look at the specs I have changed and see if this is the best for what I want 🙂

@Simsfan8989 I think that's the same one as this, that you linked earlier:
except you added more RAM. Again, the processor is overkill for Sims 4 by far. Personally, I'd go with the much cheaper 9600K (in the option I linked) and either save the money or spend some of it on a better graphics card. The card in the link you just posted is an Nvidia 1650, which is fine, but the 1660 you were considering earlier is significantly faster.

@puzzlezaddict Thanks again 🙂
is this the one you would say is the best specs for me?
Does this have loads of area for more packs and future updates etc?
is this good for graphics to have it looking really good?
is this also going to run the smoothest?
I defo want this model but if possible you could help me to get the best specs on it. I dont mind over kill as I will want this to run very good and smooth for many many many years to come rather than worrying about updating it or worrying it mite slow down in a few months.
again thanks so much for helping me, i am looking into buying this tomoerow 🙂

@Simsfan8989 I still think this configuration is a much better use of your money:
Yes, the processor is slower, but it's still massive overkill for Sims 4 and in all likelihood Sims 5 as well. (It should still be more than fine for Sims 5, it just might not be massive overkill.) But for the same £1,349, you'd get a much faster graphics card, twice the RAM, and a 512 GB solid state drive, so you wouldn't have to worry about running out of space on the smaller 256 GB SSD. (Or you could save £10 and get this configuration with a 256 GB SSD/1 TB HDD if you wanted.)
The graphics card is really the most important factor here, more than the processor, more than the extra RAM or the storage. If you want to make sure your computer handles Sims games perfectly smoothly and without any compromises on graphics quality, that's the first place you should put your money.
Not to belabor the point, but I would feel bad if I didn't mention that the exact same hardware as above costs £1,179 with the older case. I know you like the new case better, I just have to say it so I don't feel like I'm neglecting to bring up something important.

i know im sucker for the look but I much prefer the new case.
I have edited the one I will buy tomorrow.
here is the link
could you please have a final look at it and make sure I have the best graphics ram and intel
i inow you say over kill but id much rather that than worry it not being the best. Hope you understand. 🙂
im so excited to play the sims again 🙂
update - i sent the wrong link please double check its the £1,499.00
- puzzlezaddict6 years agoHero+
@Simsfan8989 Yes, this model (updated link, £1,499) has all the features we talked about. It's certainly more expensive than it needs to be, but it sounds like you're comfortable paying a premium to get exactly what you want.

Thank you so much 🙂
really helped me pick this I really am thankfull.
last last question sorry lol @puzzlezaddict
is the graphic the best? You mentioned that being important?
- puzzlezaddict6 years agoHero+
@Simsfan8989 The graphics card is more than fast enough for Sims 4. It would still run the entire game smoothly on ultra settings if you got a new 2560x1440 monitor. I'm not saying that's necessary—your current monitor should be fine—just that the Nvidia 1660 is more than good enough for your current monitor, and still good enough to handle a higher resolution if you ever want it.

@puzzlezaddict Thank you! I will be buying tomorrow 🙂

hello I have purchased my new Alienware Aurora r9.
my question is... will my old dell pc monitor work on it? My only worry is, I only have the power cable and not the cable that connects the screen to the machine. What cable would I need?
would you recommend buying a new monitor? And if so, what would you recommend for around £100 max.
hope you dont mind me asking these questions 🙂
- puzzlezaddict6 years agoHero+
@Simsfan8989 Your graphics card has DisplayPort and HDMI ports. If your old monitor uses either of these, all you need is a DP or HDMI cable; they're pretty cheap on Amazon or any electronics store. If you're not sure what your monitor has, you can physically look, or list its exact model number, and I'll look it up.
If you do need a new monitor, let me know, and I'll look later.

Hello @puzzlezaddict hope you are well
I placed my order for mY Alienware Aurora R9 it comes in a few weeks.
Please could you have a look and see if my specs will be good.
9th Gen Intel(R) Core(TM) i7 9700 (8-Core, 12MB Cache, up to 4.7GHz with Intel(R) Turbo Boost Technology)
16GB Dual Channel HyperX(TM) FURY DDR4 XMP at 2666MHz
NVIDIA(R) GeForce GTX(R) 1660 6GB GDDR5
Im praying I did the correct options and picked the best ones. Will all these make my game do the following. Im worrying incase my graphics wont be really good.
Very smooth gameplay?
Good Graphics?
Good room for memory?
- puzzlezaddict6 years agoHero+
@Simsfan8989 You didn't list the storage of the computer, but this particular model comes with more than enough just by default, so I'm sure it's fine. As for the rest, your computer should be able to run the game smoothly on ultra graphics settings, even with all Sims 4 packs (both current and future) and all the custom content you can download.
If you do see some issue with choppy graphics or lag or similar, please come back and ask for help troubleshooting. There's always a possibility that something doesn't work as it should, but on your system, any issues should absolutely be fixable.

@puzzlezaddict Do you think I could have issues with choppy graphics or lag from my specs Ive asked for? Oh no now Im worried ☹️
when it arrives I will want to download The Sims 4 and all the packs. I really hope my game runs reallt good ☹️ x
- puzzlezaddict6 years agoHero+
@Simsfan8989 Your hardware is more than strong enough to run the game with no issues at all. What I'm saying is, stuff happens with software (not hardware) that can make the game not run as well as it should. But software issues are almost always fixable. So if you do have a problem, it's probably software-related; ask here, and someone will help you fix it.

Hello @puzzlezaddict
my new pc arrived.
I just checked my stats...
my OS (c🙂 is 476 GB
my installed ram says 16.0 GB (15.8 GB useable)
is this going to be enough for the sims 4 and all the packs?
i read somewhere and people are saying it needs 24GB to run all games. Im worried i mite not have enough?
- puzzlezaddict6 years agoHero+
@Simsfan8989 Your specs are way over the top for Sims 4. The minimum requirement for memory is 4 GB RAM, and 8 GB is enough. The minimum requirement for storage is 15 GB for the base game, or about 40 GB for the base game plus all packs, and you'd want some extra space on your C drive to make sure Windows has enough room to maneuver. 20 GB free at all times is sufficient.
@puzzlezaddict Thank you
so my storage will be ok for all the packs and future games?
- puzzlezaddict6 years agoHero+
@Simsfan8989 Your storage will be more than fine for anything Sims 4 releases, and in all likelihood Sims 5 as well. (We can't know for sure, of course, but we can guess.) New Sims 4 expansions are around 1.5 GB each, game packs are under 1 GB, and stuff packs are even smaller. So even with a pile of new packs coming out in the future, the entire game would probably only end up requiring 50-60 GB. Sims 5 will likely end up requiring more—Sims 3 is about 30 GB total—but even if the size doubles again, you'll still be fine.
