how do i get my deceased sims inventory?

So I just got the notification that one of my sims passed and i didnt go to their lot yet cause (before they died), cause i was busy with other things. but now i need their inventory because that sim had  the sixam time travel in there. so how do i get that item back? also the urn/grave is not at the house. so im guessing the sim died at work.
