How do you keep your "guests" little toddlers from destroying your property?

So, a sim (I renamed him John Redcorn because that who he looked like to me) called and said, hey I need some time - can I stay over.  Little did I know that he was bringing his entire family (his wife, son and toddler).

My sim only had a 2 bedroom house, with a finished basement, yoga studio, and she recently added on an attached greenhouse.   Well their little spawn of satan keeps destroying my plant, and my sim can't discipline the little brat because she isn't their parent, and their parents (well they just eat my food, don't clean up, and want to chat all of the time.).

How do you discipline another sim's toddler?
