How do you play your story? Inspiration tips needed

@unseenlarks Wow a whole year, that's dedication 😁 yeah I also use gloomy, hot headed, jealous etc, I even put one sim to have a mean trait but could never handle it when she was mean 😂 even with all the traits (and parenthood game pack) I tried to make them all great, kind and nice. And that is of course not realistic.

I see everyone here plays with aging off, never came to my mind. I always put the life span to long because I felt normal is too short 😂

I feel like I don't have a real developed story that I can use. I just have "sketches" of how I want a family to be, have goals etc.
I also find that The Sims 4 lack a lot of traits that The Sims 3 had. I am of course aware of reward traits and the ones you get from aspirations and points. However, when creating a sim itself, I miss some of those. Just seems there are not many diverse trait possibilities in the beginning. But of course, we cannot change that, we can only beg EA to add more 😂

@EeveeTinn--i agree. i often wish Sims could be more fleshed out, right out of CAS. when creating them, be able to set skills at a specific level instead of them starting as blank slates.

even being able to lock specific ones. for example, one of my characters is supposed to be a bad cook. so i have to keep cheating his cooking skill down. i think it'd be great if i could set it in a way it wouldn't improve, so he'd stick to easy recipes. it's not realistic to me when everyone becomes a top chef after cooking five meals. 😛

about traits, i also use the reward ones a lot. also makes sense to me because just like in real life, some people might need less sleep, or similar. so i do find them useful.

@unseenlarks Yes I agree with that. Also wish we could have like a bank in the Sims where they can apply for a loan for house etc 😂 don't feel like cheating with money cheats.
I wish we could have more traits to choose from the beginning. I do use reward etc traits for Sims because it feels like it would match their personality and performance. I will try to play their life longer and not worry about aging or making things go too fast (although I am not a fan of babies and toddlers 😂)

  My problem is that I end up making perfect families; everyone is always happy, kids do their homework, no one ever fights, the house is always clean, a pretty unrealistic scenario :D Then I get bored. I need to find a good challenge to play.

    @nualla_6109 I do absolutely the same! It takes a while for me to get bored since I always make some goal for them to reach. This is also why I asked how people play, because it seems to me I am trying to live a perfect life through Sims 😂 instead of just playing with much more creativity.
