How to Fix a Corrupt Lot

On Sims 4 (on my Windows 11 PC), I have a saved lot/build – it seems to be corrupt or bugged, however, as whenever I try to either ‘build’ on it, or play in ‘live mode’ using the household in the lot, the game freezes on an endless loop on the loading screen.

I’ve created a new save file and successfully managed to load the saved lot/build from my library onto this save file – however, with the moment I go off the lot and then try to go back into it, either via ‘build mode’ or by moving a household into it, the same issue occurs again and it freezes on the loading screen.

The lot has cc in it but none of the cc seems to be obviously outdated or broken from what I can see, however I can’t think what else the problem could be.

I have MCCC and Better Exceptions installed, however for some reason neither mods are generating reports so I can’t pinpoint exactly where the corrupt cc is.

These are the steps I have taken so far to try and resolve the issue (without success):

  • I’ve created a back-up Sims 4 file, and moved the ‘saves’, ‘tray’ and ‘mods’ folders back bit by bit into the new ‘Sims 4’ folder
  • I’ve cleared the cache in the EA app
  • I’ve repaired the game
  • I’ve deleted my localthumbcache files
  • I’ve looked through the Sims 4 Tray Importer for the lot/build to see if I can identify and delete the corrupt/outdated cc: for this lot, Tray Importer has four cc items with a red circle beside it. One of them is under ‘Packs – Not Installed’ -> ‘ClientDeltaBuild0 – Trapped Tots Fence SP12’, but when I select ‘show containing folder’ it doesn’t take me to my Mods folder, instead it takes me to ‘The Sims 4’ -> ‘Delta’ -> ‘SP12’ and ‘ClientDeltaBuild0’ – I’m confused about this as I don’t have the Toddler pack and the only fences I’ve used are base game, so what does this mean, and am I safe to delete this folder or not? The other three cc items with a red circle beside them are under ‘Mods – Not Installed’: ‘0x8CE44B5AB68AD5C4’, ‘0xC25208FC121F9020,’ and ‘0xF48625D3693AE9A’, which are all ‘object catalog’ types, but there’s no option to select ‘show containing folder’ and when I search for these codes in my files they don’t show up, so I’m not sure what these are or how to get rid of them. Do you know if there's a way to identify what these are?
  • I have installed TS4 Mod Manager and deleted any duplicate/conflict cc/mods and updated any out-of-date ones, but the issues are still occurring

Please could you advise with next steps on what I can try to do next to resolve these errors so that the build/lot can be used and playable again? I don’t want to lose this lot/build as I worked really hard on it for story/gameplay purposes.

  • The delta folders are present for all packs if you have the pack or not. Don't delete stuff from the installation folder.

Have you ever tried without any mods/cc at all to see if it works that way ?
