[HSY] Early Graduates Should Ignore Prom

Just my opinion, but I suspect others agree, since they no longer attend school, Teens who have graduated early should ignore anything Prom-related. More than once, I've had a pair of emancipated Teens who both had already graduated, and they got negative Sentiments for not being invited by each other to Prom. They should ignore the Prom and anything pertaining to it, like pre-prom party invites, as they're no longer students. It's bad enough there's a prom every single week. That's just nuts on its own. But getting upset at someone for missing a prom at a school you don't even attend anymore is just too much. Graduated means done with school and that should include Prom.

It’s kinda odd right? 😅 i sent my Teen to prom (after having graduated two weeks earlier) because her boyfriend invited her. She still had her friendships and things with the other teens, it was almost like she didn’t leave high school. I think the football/cheerleader events should be ignored too if they graduate early 🤷🏽‍♀️

I agree. I hate that my early graduates have to keep dealing with prom stuff, including negative sentiments from friends/romantic interests for not inviting them to prom. Of course, there wasn't a prom invite, they're in college now. No time for prom...also I know it's been a very long time but my high school very much frowned on graduated students showing up at school functions.

@TDaise22 - The Football and Cheer Events are open to all Sims as spectator events. If they're still on the squads after graduation, you can have them quit by phone. I also do that with Scouting, though not tied to graduation. Once they get their last Badge and the Reward Trait, I have them quit Scouts. Prom is a beast of a different stripe, though. I sometimes have teen couples live together on their own, or have their GFs move in with them and their parents so I can make sure the NPC Sim also gets their education and such. When prom rolls around after they've both graduated, they get upset at each other for no invite. Utter nonsense.

@shannon730 - I can see a school having some leniency for recent graduates of their school attending prom with a student they were dating before they graduated, but other than that, it really is supposed to for students only (as far as I know.) I've never attended a prom. I came to the US from England after graduation, where prom was never really a thing. I have been exposed to the concept through American media, though, and the way TS4 applies it doesn't mesh at all with that, and in the most obnoxious way to boot.
