Hurkey Crowel . . .

Or so, I heard my Sim, Erik, say.  I think there is a slight problem with the scandal system.  I rolled back two gaming session saves, which put Louise, Erik's mother back to the point where she had to duel another Sim.  So, as I had planned, but failed to implement the first go-through, I had Erik do the honors. Sadly, he lost to her. She full-on knocked the kid on his behind! Of course, he's completely embarrassed by it. And there was a witness, as his younger and only sister walked into the foyer about that time.

Problem: The scandal is all about how Erik lost to a commoner. Mind you, his mother is a Baronetess at this stage in her Noble Career. And Erik is a Lord.

Question: Is the game meant to manufacture these 'scandals'? Or is this a horrific misfire. While this saves his mother the humiliation she suffered (9-day) scandal, the last time, Erik's is considered a medium scandal, and he's given an option his mother wasn't. He could pay the Information Broker to bury the 'secret'.

I'm not complaining, and if this is how the game is meant to function, that's okay, too. It just has me a bit confused is all.

If anyone has some insight on this, please share.
