I can’t assign beds to my Sims

I’ve had this issue for a while now where I’m unable to assign beds to my sims. I do play with mods and CC, but I’ve removed my entire Mods folder, loaded the game, started a brand new save file, and tried assigning the beds again, but it still doesn’t work.

It’s driving me crazy because I’ve had to lock doors so my Sims can’t go into other rooms and sleep in someone else’s bed. It’s not the worst thing in the world since it’s the only option I have right now, but obviously I’d really like to be able to assign the beds properly. It’s so frustrating, and I feel like I’ve tried everything.
