Is outdoor retreat worth it?
I like to have a least one of my sims collect, fish and cook new things. Without telling me specifics please, does outdoor living provide "new" things in these areas. New harestables? Trying to decid...

@RonneeSimmer I personally love the idea of Outdoor Retreat, it's one of the packs that I actually use frequently- but it depends on what you are looking for. The other issue (about being worth it) is that there are a heck of a lot of bugs (with the latest patch, and previous patches) currently, and most bugs are being left (unfixed). You may also encounter more lag when adding packs, which could make the game unworkable for you.
If the game was made properly, and there were no major issues, and customers could get real help for problems, I would recommend Outdoor retreat- which is why I said I like the 'idea' of outdoor retreat ... I like the aethstetic, and there are a couple things that add a little bit more (not a great deal more though, because the game itself is lacking in depth for people who want a substantial gameplay).
Sorry, not a great answer, I know, but it is the most truthful that I can (as a player) provide to another person. It is a lot of money for a broken product, and for a product in beta testing (when you read all the bug reports, and tech issues, there is more than enough evidence to that). I feel for other players who believed in the franchise, and in the touted capabilities of the devs- the excitement for what was promised is crushing.

Yeah see @InfiniteVerve @@, I only have Get to work and Strangerville and I don't have a ton of bugs now. My game crashes from time to time but I think it's an issue with my computer more than the game I just don't have the money to have it checked out. I worry with adding more if I'll mess up what I have. If I'll add a bunch of bugs and make it unplayable.
Maybe I'll save my money up to get my computer a checkup rather than spend it on more games. Idk
- @RonneeSimmer It's heartbreaking, and I get the lack of money issue. I hate advising someone (who is excited) not to get the game, but it's not worth it. I wish they would release the game (open source) to people and let the modders complete it (making mods and cc compatible- because they actually DO add to the game- and those modders also fix bugs). I think that is a reasonable request, but EA seems to need a class action lawsuit for selling a broken product :/
All I can suggest is to try new gameplay, though there is not a lot to try when there is nothing more to add... Rags to Riches only go so far in game play, as do all of the other suggestions. I'm sorry I couldn't give an excited "Yes, buy it!" to your question, but I'd rather be truthful.

@RonneeSimmerMy game never crashes and I have all EPs except DU and all GPs except RoM and Vamps, and quite a few SPs. Could be your system specs, or your resources. Are you on Win 10? If yes play the game in window view and then open the task manager and see how your resources are being used.

I winded up building a bundle deal for "Cyber Monday". I got Seasons + Outdoor Retreat + Romantic Garden Stuff for 48 bucks!!
I'm liking Outdoor Retreat so far except that I have to make sure that I sell all my produce before traveling. Seasons is cool too.
I'm having an issue sometimes where even if i have all necessary ingredients i can't make some recipes. They look available and are clickable but just don't show up in my queue know matter how many times i try. Like I wanted my sim to bake something that Twitter either spinach our basil. She had both and each were better than nice quality, though I doubt that matters. I click on the fridge, select bake and select the item from the list. I look at her queue and its not there. I try again with the same outcome. It was only after I'd sold all her produce, sent her on vacation, brought her home, had her garden and harvest and then had her bake again did it finally let me do it. It's just one or two recipes I've had this happen with. Not a big deal I just find it strange.
Other than that I'm having fun collecting bugs, finding new harvestables and fish. I just started with the flower arranging table and bee keeping boxes. I'm pretty happy with my choices. So far so good 👍. Thanks for all the advice, suggestions and honesty.
