Is outdoor retreat worth it?

I like to have a least one of my sims collect, fish and cook new things. Without telling me specifics please, does outdoor living provide "new" things in these areas. New harestables? Trying to decide if I'll buy it during the black Friday sale.

I'm also thinking of buying Island living. Same question though. Without specifics are there new collectables, fish, harvestables, recipes? Is the game with it overall?

Even with possible deals with black Friday is still a lot of money to spend on a game that has really let me down so much.

Were these games worth the money to you or did they let you down?

@RonneeSimmer Thank you for the advice. 🙂 This particular 'issue' isn't anything new (the one I was describing). Unfortunately it's likely by design, and mainly specific to the baking skill plus some other specific 'special' items. It does provide some  motivation for those intent on learning/adding particular food items to grow those harvestables, add bees to your lot/garden, obtain some rare fruits, etc.... or in the case of some recipes from City Living, to attend the spice festival. (Or if I feel very adventurous, play with my CowPlant rather than sticking it in inventory and writing rants about how I hate my CowPlant 😉)! 🙌
