Is the interaction of sitting on bed to play on console exclusive to HSY?

I don't have the pack yet, so I tried to make my Sims play on console while sitting on bed, and they complained about routing issues, like if the bed wasn't available or was blocking their route.

Was this interaction meant to be Base Game or is it exclusive to High School Years?
