It’s taking ages for my toddlers to use the potty

@autumnaljungle Unless you are seeing something different in your game than what's happening in mine, my assumption has been that this is a part of the potty training process. I think they're trying to simulate Sim-style the learning process. Relevant things I see in my game:

• Until they learn they always need an adult/teen to be there with them to train them.
• When they're just beginning, they oftentimes don't succeed and will potty in the diaper before they try if you wait too long to get them seated.
• They may try and try without success for quite a while.
• Sometimes then stand up and potty on the floor or in the diaper (as other needs are interfering, etc), if their other needs are in the red or close to it, or if they become so while on the potty, they will be come uncooperative, etc.
• The more times they have practiced/succeeded the better they get at cooperating and success in a reasonable time.
• Once they've 'learned to potty' they can go on their own by you just directing them to do so (no adult/teen needed).
