items in house disappearing, not in household inventory

I'm a very new player so I may be overlooking something simple. I've just had several items purchased for my home disappear - all were sitting on desk/table/counters, and it may have happened after I changed the floor pattern. I'm missing my computer, starter tv set, coffee machine, triple planter, succulent planter, desklamp, and the grim reaper's music player. I suppose there might be a couple more, but that's what I remember for certain. None of them are in my household inventory; I've left for work and a day at the park and they stayed missing; I've closed the game; I've 'verified file integrity' via Steam. Still no return of my items. Any help appreciated!

I installed the game yesterday and I have not downloaded or installed any DLC or cheats.
