Jewish Sim

I just tried uploading a Jewish Sim to the gallery but all words relating to judaism are apperantly banned because it says that I'm not allowed to upload this sim because there are banned words in the bio. Why are things relating to Judaism banned??

In the "unjustified banned words" thread there's a list of words here that are banned and shouldn't be: https://answers.ea.com/t5/Bug-Reports/COLLECTION-THREAD-Unjustified-disallowed-words/m-p/11291600#M207556

"Jew" is disallowed, as are references to Jewish Nomadic Hut Appreciation Week (and the hut itself).  😉  "Jewish" is not. If you've found more unjustified disallowed words, you should add them to that thread!

[Edit] I would also like to add that "Jew" is not a word that should be banned. I know from talking to some well-intentioned folks that they're very uncomfortable with the word--one said he was afraid people would think he was antisemitic if he said "Jew" and was very careful to always say "Jewish" instead, and another said she wouldn't even say "Jewish" and would instead try to describe someone's specific denomination (e.g. "Orthodox"). "Jew" is not a bad word or a slur, it's the word we call ourselves. We're Jews. Please don't ban the word we call ourselves.

  • I think I am unfortunately partially responsible for the ban on Jews...

About a year ago, I brought up occurrences of racial caricatures and racial slurs on the gallery.
I especially reported on caricature portrayals of Roma people, but others also reported caricature portrayals of especially Jewish and Muslim sims.

The Sims team promised to take a look at the issue... And I think they did.
It just looks like the solution for the racial caricatures is to... remove the caricatured group of people. 🤨

I remember that thread, and I was thinking that poptart52's report predated it but I'm wrong. That said, I would be surprised if they moved that fast. Er, no offense, EA! but they're a big company and big companies move slowly.

I was the person who was reporting racial characture Jewish stereotypes, btw! but the search term that brought them up was "Jewish" rather than "Jew." I was looking for Jewish wedding venues and got an ugly surprise.
