Love this game, but oh, the bugs!
I have been playing Sims 4 in all my spare time for some weeks now. I can't believe how much I love it and am into it. I have tried all sorts of different things. I can't imagine running out of thing...

For the prices we pay, I'd expect them to have bug tested the games more before release. Like, I'd accept it if the games were cheaper. "Oh, we chose to not bug test the game for so long, to be able to sell them for cheap, and you, the gamers are the bug testers instead".
You have to have some skill to play this game, as there are always bugs that could kill the sims so you gotta cheat. I know the important cheats but I can't leave a friend at my computer and let them play, all of suddenly they will experience a bug where a sim wouldn't eat or get stuck or whatever, then they gotta know how to cheat and some aren't computer skilled like that.
I was going to purchase more packs but now I'm actually waiting to see if it gets better, and if not I might actually stop playing or at least stop purchasing more packs.
I agree. I don't mind doing some of their work for them, but it seems to me as if these troubleshooting and fix methods are part of regular gameplay. They should not be.
As to my sim not sleeping. I did a repair and went back in, and it worked. There was no stereo or anything like that. It was a sudden glitch out of nowhere. So, I had to stop playing and repair, which again, should not be an acceptable part of normal play, IMHO.
Another new thing cropped up, and again, since there are so many of these issues, I'm not sure if I am doing something wrong, or if it is yet another bug. I bought a water balloon bucket to try out the water balloon fights. I filled it, but now I cannot interact with the filled bucket in any way. It irks me that I am now left to wonder so often if I am doing something incorrectly or if it is yet another time for very regular repair because of very regular bugs and glitches.
Further update - Seems I needed a partner/victim. There was no one in the vicinity, so I could not interact with the water balloon bucket. That seems to be working, and I had not figured it out. 🙂
@Seleos13There are an awful lot of them. I've found ways around a lot of them. (I've been keeping a list, have over 100 on the list so far.)
But the one that continues to irk me is the majority of the time I'll have to instruct a sim to do something twice. The first time almost always gets cancelled. Can't find a way around it.
Yes! That one is very irksome. I wouldn't say it happens all the time, but it happens much too often.
@Kanelbullet, yes, there are more bugs than there should be. However, it is impossible to catch all of the bugs... some require a very specific set of circumstances that arent' easy to reproduce. Also, there are many playing styles in a game like The Sims that you don't have in other games. So, the game might be tested in a few of these styles, but some of the less popular playing styles will probably not be tested.
@Seleos13, I'm glad your sleeping glitch stopped! 🙌 I might be wrong , but I see bugs as something that happen to many players, and in more than one Save Game, or even household, and that usually don't go away on their own. The rest I see as glitches. Much rarer, usually only in one household or Sim, and might go away on its own. I think I've heard people say that those cases are more like a corrupted save. But that wouldn't be EA's fault.A more obvious bug would be the one in Realm of Magic where your game crashed when trying to exit CAS when the Spellcaster animation was occuring! ☹️ I'm so happy they fixed that! 🙂
For me, I really wish the whims would fullfill like they should. And toddlers would finish theri meals, and like @Psychotps I really hope they fix actions from dropping out of Sims's queues! That one drives me nuts! 😢
I'm also glad your water balloons not working wasnt' a bug! 🥳 I've had similar times when I wasnt' fullfilling the requirements for a certain action and I thought it was a bug. The most recent time was with one of the spells... I simply misunderstood how to use it and I was sure it was a bug, but I saw a video from Carl's Sims 4 Guide where Carl was able to do the spell, so I knew it was my fault and not the game's fault! Sometimes we all have to stop jumping to conclusions and ask some questions, which is what this section of Answers HQ is so great for! That way, we can often find out it isn't a bug , or if it is we can then post in the Bug Reports section! 😇
- @PugLove888 Did find a bug a while ago. Never bothered to report it 'cause its minor.
One thing that irks me is beehive actions. You can't queue one up if you are already doing another. Like, if you see the action to "Apply Mite Treatment", I'll always click that and then queue up another action "Bond with Bees". Once the treatment gets done, the "Bond" action will ALWAYS drop out and I have to do it again.@Psychotps, yes I hate that too! 😞 And it is the same for all beebox actions! None will stay in the queue! ☹️
