Love this game, but oh, the bugs!
I have been playing Sims 4 in all my spare time for some weeks now. I can't believe how much I love it and am into it. I have tried all sorts of different things. I can't imagine running out of thing...
I wish they could take a year, or something, for only bug-fixes. The testers and bug-fixers never get enough time to fix all the bugs, and there are more and more bugs with every pack.
During a bug-fix year they could still make stuff packs, with only CAS items. Yes, sometimes CAS items are buggy, but they are the least buggy things. Why not only fix bugs for a year, why also make stuff packs? Because they need to make a profit to pay the testers and developers.
Let me quote my SO who's a developer: "Testers are never prioritised, they never get enough time because everyone else don't need as much time as they do."
I'm actually very afraid that when they stop updating TS4 there'll still be a lot of bugs. 😢
Thanks. I went over there. There is a lot of information you all are wanting. It feels like I am doing work when I paid to play a working game. I understand that you all wish to know variables when trying to duplicate bugs, but I will tell you that I cannot have a single play session without encountering a bug of some kind. I feel like it is sloppy that these bugs are overlooked, and we are told to repair and/or remove cache. I did try to make a new thread about my most recent issue, but I can't seem to even post it. I can preview it, but I am not seeing a way to post it.
I just had a new bug happen again and this was directly after repairing the game. It also seems apparent from other people's reactions that these bugs are fairly predominant in number and occurrence. I applaud your efforts to help. I am not impressed at all with the devs' ability to find and/or remove these bugs. It's too easy for them to ignore it and tell us to repair or travel somewhere and go back, etc., etc.
The new bug, which has now happened twice in as many play sessions. I told my sim to interact with a cat (first time it was a stray at the cat hangout bar), and then nothing happened. I tried to cancel the action and do something else ... nothing. I had to finally give up and leave the lot. This reminded me of the foosball bug mentioned earlier. The second time this happened was at home when my Sim tried to interact with the pet cat. Firstly, I have autonomy turned OFF< but that doesn't seem to matter as my Sims regularly do their own thing. My Sim went to kiss the pet cat, though I did NOT cue up that action. Now my Sim is just standing in the backyard, looking at the corner of the fence. The cat is back there, too, but no interaction. No matter what I try, my Sim will just not do anything. So, I suppose I need to travel somewhere and back, or save and repair again? It's silly to have jump through these hoops to play a AAA game that has been out for so long.
It needs to be fixed.
@Seleos13, it sounds like the incident with the cat is a routing issue, or else multiple actions getting in the way of each other. I often get similar things when my Sim is trying to interact with another Sim who in not controllable by me, (like when the other Sim is in the process of leaving the lot or area and my Sim tried to interact with them. -- my Sim will just stand there waiting, but the other Sim is trying to leave and can't for some reason.) 🤭 These kinds of glitches will always happen in Sims games from time to time, and have always happened in all versions .
However, I can't say for certain that this is what is happening in your game.🤔 There is still the chance that your problem is an actual bug and not a glitch. But bugs can be caused by numerous things, some easy to replicate, but oftentimes not. 😞 But if you really want to help fix bugs, then you have to fill out the Bug Report. To do otherwise would be like going to the doctor, and only telling them part of your problem, but expecting a cure!🤨😃
Ahh! I did not do that. Thanks. 🙂
