Moving from old to new save - worth it?
I started one of my generational saves around December 2019 when my parents gifted me Discover University for Christmas, and I've been playing with it ever since. Lately, I've been thinking about the possibility of moving my whole gameplay shebang from my old save to a new one. As in: creating a fresh save in 2026 now, saving all the houses in the old save and replacing them in this new save, saving my still living families to the Library and dropping them in the worlds. It would be tedious and definitely take a lot of fiddling with settings but I'm thinking it might be worth it. The question is - is it, though? Pros of moving: no bugs that have been fixed by now but only on new saves (AKA post-fix) and there's a lot of them, updated/upgraded gameplay mechanics and townies etc., a fresh and more stable save file (mine's gonna be 7yo soon), I've mainly focused on one-two generations at a time so there's not much worry about NPCs and background characters. Cons of moving: any gameplay/world-changing progress I've made (Strangerville infection, Sulani clean-up, Evergreen Harbor eco status...es just to name a few), keeping track of the sims' relationships and their family tree (my biggest concern - will two separate households of the same family know each other after being placed in a new world?), new bugs. Some pros are better than other ones, some cons are definitely bigger than other ones... So, that begs the question - is it worth considering? Would all that work help or just make me more angry at the game? Has anyone here tackled this issue before? How was your experience? I play on PC and I almost never use mods so things like moving CC or anything are not a problem I worry about. Entertaining all answers, it's not a time-sensitive problem. I wasn't sure if this should go here or into General Discussion but here goes!! :)For Rent: how to become landlord
Hi all, Last week I purchased the 'For Rent'-expansion and created a lot/house for tenants/rent. I made a Sim, with in mind her becoming the landlord. So I'd love her to buy the residential rental, but it has been occupied in the mean time. The system keeps saying "Sims can only purchase unowned businesses or unoccupied residential lots". How can I fix this? What steps can I take to become landlord of my own built house? Thanks in advance! IrisWerewolf Temperaments not removing upon removal of Werewolf trait
I am having an issue with removing werewolf Temperaments from my sim, who's no longer a werewolf. I've tried everything and nothing is working. This is very annoying every time he swims or showers because it makes him very angry for 2 sim hours! Can we get a glitch fix for this, too, EA? When removing the trait, it should remove ALL attachments to the Werewolf form! I recently bought this expansion but it is proving to be a royal pain in the butt, imho.SolvedMaster-mentor/teach a Sim [BH]
Greetings, I allready finished the achievement Master-Mentor with one of my played Sim. Now my other Sim stucks at "teach a Sim" , i noticed last time : the meaning is = become a mentor of another Sim. Am i right? Last time it just happens ... now i don't know how i am able to "force" a npc-sim to ask my played-one to be a mentor ... ? Or, how do i trigger an event like this ? ... need helpSolvedCan there be multiple highschools at once?
I've googled this plenty of times, but all discussions are years old, and I'm not sure if they're relevant anymore. People said there's no option to build a highschool on a different lot, however, I have the option, and I believe I can do so while Copperdale is running, but I'm unsure. Does anyone know? Has anyone tested it? If so, is there any way to choose which school a sim goes to?Kids keep getting taken away
Hey! This issue has been occurring for a while now I took a long break because of how frustrating it's been. My sim kids in the game keep getting whisked away for no reason. This is happening to ALL sims in my game for some reason. Evry single time I load my game if there's a child or multiple children in that family they get whisked away one by one. Then I go to a different sim family and the same thing happens. Please someone help. How to move a sim to a different household?
Hello! I am not a smart man. I made a household with one Sim that was supposed to be a lone adult, but I decided to make him a family and put them across town in Willow's Creek. He has a mother and a brother and I have no idea how to fix family relationships to make him related to them, so they're just two separate households. I also want to know how to transfer the brother over to my main household, or if it is possible, is it possible to shift between two households and move his brother back and forth. Is it also somehow possible to control a random sim from a different household, cause I want them to level up with the same skill and go on adventures together and then drop him off at his mother's house, cause both of them are unemployed losers and the joke is that the brother is older than my main sim and neither of them will ever accomplish anything, but I don't want the brother to stay in the main household cause he's a background character in his story. I wanna pick him up and drop him off in another household after every adventure to places like the Jungle Adventure pack. CC is acceptable as an answer too! Thanks for reading this.
