My sim died on a vacation to Granite Falls. How do I bring the body home?

My teen sim burnt to death working the grill on the back deck of the big cabin in Granite Falls. He was vacationing with his sister, parents, grandmother and (nonplayable) lover. I can't enter build mode. Is there a way to get his tombstone into someone's inventory? Or at least move it somewhere interesting on the lot so the family can continue to visit him? Also, is there a way to repair the burn damage to the lot? Thanks.
