I can't go into any of my households, it reminds me the update for Enamorada that CAS wasn't working and you had to force shut the computer to get out of the game. Every time I see an update my hope for a good game at home dies...last time I just didn't play for a while and then they fixed whatever bug it was...I will try in a couple of weeks again.

Edit; If it helps anyone else, my game defaulted to Dx11, so I switched it back to Dx9 in graphics settings and it resolved a lot of issues.
I'm having issues too that have made the game unplayable and I regret updating. I can't save my game at all and the CC thumbnails in build/buy stop loading after a few minutes of playing, actually all of the BB thumbnails reload really slowly even with the game's own content. When I do try to save, the game gets stuck on the save screen until I force close it. It really is awful when you've spent a ridiculous amount of money on a game and they can't even ensure it works before releasing patches.
I'm having a similar issue. First I was able to load into my played household just fine, the forever loading screen only happened when I go to world and click on a different household... it eventually just stopped loading into all my saves. I spent a few hours going through all my mods, doing the 50/50 and my game worked fine after deleting SACS mods. I had to go to work after, and tried playing when I got home.... only to get the same issue again. I'm beyond annoyed. I also forgot to add that during the loading screen that songs pops up (the one letting you know you loaded into your household) but it doesn't get out of the loading screen.
Thanks for this Blackheart! My husband made the same Dx9 change on my computer and it solved my problem with being able to open the game. I still can't open the game from the EA app but at least I can now open it from the desktop shortcut.
I am only relieved that I am not the only one going through this. I removed all mods, updated them, took out CC, and that didn't change anything. I can load one family but cannot load any others.
I have repaired, uninstalled sims4 and the EA app. I hope this gets resolved soon!
it's been days since the update and now we have the reaper event, and I can't do anything. the game simply will not show anything on my task bar and if my sim goes to work the whole game crashes. I was looking forward to this for weeks. I'm so bummed. I guess I just can't play sims for now :(
new update 9-18-2024 update has broken my game so bad when i go to play, click on family i want to play and go to bed 8 hours later still loading the save file, 8 hours of loading screen, does EA test these updates or do they just put them out there and see what nightmare comes out of it? you would think a game that makes them money they would make sure every update and add-on would work right. had to force game to quit from computers task manager no other way to stop it. 😣
im so sick of ea istg. they always try to fix some stuff after an expansion pack or a kit with an update then they break the mods and the game every single **bleep** time. the sims 4 isnt playable at this point im just gonna wait till they fix this to play again bc im not gonna try to find ways to play or delete my mods just so i can even open the game. the sims isnt even playable without mods. **bleep** ea.
Good suggestion for those having issues! I was also unable to launch my game from the app. Once my husband switched it to Dx9 it became playable again.
