NPCs in fishing career without owning IL

Product: The Sims 4
Platform:Mac
Which language are you playing the game in? English
How often does the bug occur? Occasionally (10% - 49%)
What is your current game version number? 1.107.112.1230
What expansions, game packs, and stuff packs do you have installed? get to work, get together, city living, cats and dogs, seasons, get famous, discover university, eco lifestyle, snowy escape, cottage living, high school years, growing together, for rent, outdoor retreat, spa day, dine out, vampires, parenthood, realm of magic, dream home decorator, my wedding stories, werewolves, cool kitchen, spooky, movie hangout, romantic garden, backyard, vintage glamour, laundry day, my first pet, tiny living, knitting, paranormal, home chef hustle
Steps: How can we find the bug ourselves? find out the jobs of various random sims presumably randomly generated by the game (without island living installed)
What happens when the bug occurs? one of them has the fishing career, which comes from a pack I do not own.
What do you expect to see? random sims not having jobs in packs I do not own.
Have you installed any customization with the game, e.g. Custom Content or Mods? Not now. I've removed them.
Did this issue appear after a specific patch or change you made to your system? Neutral/Not Sure

I believe at one point I was offered a trial of Island Living but I think I've re-installed the game since that trial. I'm not particularly bothered by this bug but I'm assuming this is not intentional.

Edit By Crinrict: Adjusted Title to better reflect the issue

  • There's always been a base game NPC only fisherman career - NPCs with that usually also have the trait "isMasterFisherman" and they're usually assigned this to be background fishing people you'll see around the world using fishing spots, usually wearing professional fishing clothing like dungarees. That's how you can tell them apart from just regular sims fishing.

Like your screenshot, it will show the sim as a "Fisherman/Fisherwoman" working for "Fishers and Sons". So I don't think you have any bug. NPCs with this career will have the career stripped from them if you ever make them a playable sim, because it's for NPCs only.

The part-time fisher career from Island Living is different - you can tell those sims apart because it will say they are "Fisherman/Fisherwoman" at "Gilbert's Guppy Market".

  • It is not the same save from when I had the pack. It is the only career I have noticed.
