I think most people would not buy the Sims 5 if they abandon the Sims 4 without fixing all outstanding bugs that last for years.
There are other game companies killed their reputation by releasing buggy game. Those that still survive are the one who keep fixing their bugs. Others are gone and no more future series.

After the big announcement of The Sims it seems that the community no longer cares about what is happening with the sims 4. They only talk about the sims 5 and are waiting for this big announcement. They are no longer asking EA to fix this damn game, they want to go to sims 5, they are saying that sims 4 is old and not worth it anymore. This is not right, if EA doesn't fix The Sims 4 bugs I won't buy sims 5, I'm tired of spending money on sims 4 and not even being able to play properly because the damn game is always broken. I went back to sims 2 and sims 3 and if it continues like this I will continue with them. There are no plans to stop support for The Sims 4 anytime soon. We're committed to releasing bug fixes, packs, kits and SDX items for the foreseeable future.

Glad to be reading this.
I've been playing sims since 2/4/2000 and I'm really sad to see what's happening with sims 4, I love them all, including sims 4.
I just wish they were more transparent as we are constantly posting about game issues and it seems like we are being ignored.
Please don't abandon sims 4 or the community…
Thanks for your answer, it's great to see you from EA around, it already means something.
I'm grateful for that. - simsplayer8183 years agoHero
I'm really glad it will continue to be supported too. I've also played since the start. Right now I still have a broken game. The idea of future packs is a real quandary for me as I love to buy them but each one makes my game less stable and as I've already mentioned on here, MWS was the last straw for my game and then just patching for the release of HSY made it totally unplayable.
So what I'd like to see is an acknowledgment of that problem and a plan to address it, to make the game able to sustain further content.
Plus the elephant in the room is the problem with next generation Consoles. We're having so many problems and many of us bought them to improve stability..I see other players stating their intention to do the same thing and I know they will be ultimately disappointed and out of pocket. It is a known problem, in fact Microsoft warned me it wouldn't help things. So I feel that any future for Sims 4 must also include looking at the direction of the Console experience and how to fix the next gen problem. We're crashing on brand new Consoles and our graphics aren't optimised so we're getting warnings throughout gameplay. We've not seen any action on that. So going forward, this needs to be a focus. I gave away a perfectly good Xbox one and switched up to Series S to get no benefit from that at all and then saw Series X players say the same thing...just as I was trying to track a Series X down for myself thinking maybe that was the answer.
So the devs need to factor the next generation of consoles and the durability of the base game into any meaningful plans/discussions or new content (however much I love new content) is a waste of money sadly.
I would love to see it continue (since I don't like the ideas circulating for Sims 5) but I can't play it as it is.
