Question about Multiple Saved Households

Sorry beforehand if this is a dumb question and I am just blind to what might be an obvious solution.

But I have a very NSFW Sims4 game. When I go home for the holidays however, my little sister loves playing with me. She has made her own family/house in my game. I always have to remove all of my NSFW content and clean up my game before she plays (my parents don't want to buy her TS4 because they think it will distract her from schoolwork but I am only there temporarily so then its OK) When I leave I have to deal with putting everything back the way it was. I have been to scared to try and do anything else because I am afraid of losing either her progress or mine.

How can I keep my game the way it is, but also keep her game the way it is? If that makes sense.

Thanks for any help and if this is the wrong section for this question then I'm sorry I clearly don't know what I'm doing :D

  • @LolaLikesC4  What might be easiest is if you moved the entire Sims 4 user data folder (the one in Documents\Electronic Arts) to a different location when your sister wanted to play.  Doing so will force the game to spawn a clean folder with no content, including no NSFW mods or the sims that have been... benefiting from them.  These folders can be swapped back and forth whenever you want, with no harm done; the game will read whichever one is in Documents\Electronic Arts and ignore anything else.

This way, you don't have to worry about removing mods, or the consequences of accidentally loading one of your saves without those mods present.  And you can put your sister's Sims 4 folder somewhere else when she's done and move yours back, then swap them again the next time she wants to play.

If your sister has already created saves that she wants to play again, you can copy those saves into the new user data folder after the game creates one.  Saves are located in the saves folder, unsurprisingly.

  • Have two different save files - one for you and one for her.

At this point, go in and "save as" and create a new save for either one of you.

Make sure when you play that you use the load game function rather than the big play button to choose the appropriate save file 🙂

Disable the mods in the game options menu before she plays, rather than manually removing everything.
