Re: Cannot change Household Relationships when creating a new Sim

I finally downloaded y ts4 after 5 months.  I bought 4 PC because each time it completed down; loading I would get, "can't complete, disk full" so I used USB plugins and still, not enough space. finally i buy another pc 4  times ram and memory. all my expansion and game finally downloaded.  I go to get my families i have created since beginning and now i can't unite them as a family again it's 3 generations, 8 members each husband and wife not together nor children with their parents. I used cas.fulleditmode and sill no success.  not very happy with EA at the moment. I've been a simmer sins ts1 and thought i would be a lifer but with all that's happened, i  am doubtful. too much stress and touble can't enjoy the game.

Plese HELP!!!!

  • The issue is with the fact that all of these families of yours are considered "pre-existing." I've reached out for help about this too and, depending on the extent of your families the solution may be frustrating.

https://answers.ea.com/t5/General-Discussion-Feedback/Cannot-edit-pre-exisiting-sims-relationships/m-p/10647737 This is the thread I posted about it and you can read the solutions from Psychotops, however a summary is that you would have to download MCCC, delete all pre-existing relationships between every single sim (if your families are large this may not be the easiest so I recommend saving back-ups) and then you have to go back through and re-work all of the relationships, including those which connect the different generations together.

Unfortunately cas.fulleditmode cannot bypass pre-existing relationships, and it only works between sims who have no pre-existing relationships. E.g on my post I explained I was trying to give Lilith and Caleb Vatore some parents, however the ability to make both parents related to both Vatore siblings was blocked by the existing family relationship between Lilith and Caleb. I had to delete this, and it was fairly simple considering it was only 4 sims, however I understand you have multiple large families and so it may take some concentration and complete dedication of your focus to fix this correctly.

  • @vejai2 Hello!  I'm sorry you've been having so much trouble.  Have you checked all their ages?  For married couples, the sims have to be young adult or older.  Meaning teens and adults can't be married to each other.  For family relationships, parents must be older than their children.  I'll use the young adult you highlighted in your image as an example.  If you want to make him a parent of a young adult, then you'd have to change his age to adult or elder.  This is a limit of CAS.  When playing the game and you have aging turned off, it is possible for a teen to age up to young adult while their parent remains young adult too.  You won't be able to do this in CAS though.
