To get gold you must use risky performance at least once and it must be successful. Look for something that you know you have high skill in such as Dancing, Singing or whatever Notice that even the "safe" can fail if you do not have enough skill in it. Also notice that having low acting skills means you will fail more.
That's what I was trying to do, actually. I maxed out my acting skill and would make sure to take jobs with my highest skills so that all the performances would be things my sim was good at. It still leaves me just short of gold. It has happened 8 times in a row now. I even tried taking jobs with lower pay, assuming that they'd require less skill and be easier to get gold in.
Look at which of your performances fail (bar doesn't increase).
I did the risk and I got gold but my aspiration is not complete. Why is that? Please help!
