Re: CC Issue in CAS?

Hi @SaveZeIda

Looks to me it may be Weerbesu's more columns for cas mod, he's at modthesims.. you are in luck though, as he updates all his mods regularly as well. I use a lot of his mods.

Just in case it helps, I don't really use the 50/50 method since I have so many I do however have a lot of folders and subfolders, which helps a lot, and I usually start by removing my 'main game mods' folder first.

More tips >>

Spoiler
    • Mods & cc are well known to cause various in-game issues please check for updates to them / where you found them; do this also > after any sims update or adding a game pack,
    • I use Sims 4 Studio for batch fixes it solves a lot of problems in bulk (but not all.) It's also available for Mac.
    • Dimitry's Mod Conflict Detector at mod the sims is good too; as you may have accidentally downloaded some Sims 3 / 2 items is not always going to be an obvious thing.. It will also detect duplicates and 'wrong game' cc.. and sorts it via highlighting in bright colors.

Hope this helps,

Sasha

    Thank you for responding! 🙂

I should have included this is the original post because i immediately assumed it was the more columns mod. I tested it, even though i do have the latest version, and i was still having the problem. Maybe i'll just do some more testing and figure it out, i just feel like i am constantly doing that haha. Honestly worth it though because i couldn't live without all my mods. 😃 I recently organized all my mods into subfolders and it has helped tremendously though.

    Hi @SaveZeIda

You're welcome, yes folders are imperative for a lot of mods and cc it makes finding the problematic cc far quicker. Also, as I mentioned the Sims4Studio batch fixes are good, as it fixes various things that may interfere with your game but fixes it 'in bulk'.

Now i remember why i gave up trying to find what was causing this. I just spent a good hour trying to find the problem but the results are inconsistent. My CAS folder is causing the issue but the 50/50 method isn't working because i keep getting different results for the same content. Maybe my game can't handle so much CAS items so it gets glitchy? I have batch fixed before and i've had this problem for as long as i can remember. Oh well, no big deal at least it doesn't effect my gameplay and i can play around with the icons to get them to move. Thanks for your help!

    Hi,

Sorry to hear that, It also happened  in my game a very long time ago (is also why I answered) but it hasn't happened since. The mod conflicter is also good, I use 1000's of cc so I still believe its either a broken one - or one is conflicting with the more columns mod.

If two mods are conflicting it can also cause issues, like if you use anything that different mods 'interacts' with the same game script issues can arise.

I downloaded the newest version from March and i can't find a tutorial on how to use it. Only older versions. I thought i could figure it out but i'm getting weird error messages and when i scan the directory only a small amount of mods show up and they say not analyzed. I have thousands of mods so i'm not sure whats happening. I'm not sure how to analyse them or what that even means in this context to be honest. I downloaded the application from mod the sims and extracted the file into my mods folder. I ran the application and hit the scan option and selected the directory option. Then what you see in the screenshot, is what happened. A little confused, do you know what could be happening or what i'm doing wrong? Thanks so much for you time

    Hi @SaveZeIda

It's far too indepth to explain the 'how to' here..

There is however many youtube videos  (or resources to find online) on using the tool.

Edit: June 2019: The program will still detect broken mods, duplicates, sims2/sims3 files, conflicts, disabled files, third-party files, and wrong content type files (possibly needs to be unpacked).

    Here's one tutorial via youtube

    Hope this helps,

Do you know where i could get the older version? Maybe i will start a new thread about MCD and the error messages i'm getting since now it's a whole other issue haha.

    @SaveZeIda

Edit: Mai decided a new thread was relevant ☹️ imo find that confusing for many readers, having little context to follow..

No, I would not start a new thread, you simply need practice using it.. by the way, it's not really much to do with the 'files' that you're referencing, I ignore that myself as it's not really highlighting/referencing to any mods or cc (and you're not using the correct 'tab')

It is also clearly referenced at the Mod The Sims by Dimitry, you have the 'latest' version.. It does still work tho..

    Update 03/03/2018 (2.2.300)
Hi friends! I apologize for my absence. Unfortunately, I will not develop MCD.I don't have enough time and energy. I have to work hard to make money for moving to another city.
A small update with the removal of ads and networking features will be released soon. Also will be laid out the source code of the program. Anyone will be able to continue the development of MCD.

Also, this forum is not 'about' mods nor their use, and your 'issue' with a particular 'tool' you simply need practice using. BTW, I fixed my problem with Cas (items being out of alignment) by sorting and checking through my mods/cc items methodically not with this tool

    @SaveZeIda

A note on cc and mod use, there is the:

    1: Sims Forum with dedicated Mods/CC issues/categories

    2: Sims 4 Studio

    3: Mod the Sims

All of which you are more likely to find dedicated cc/mod help & more tutorials, from actual cc and mod makers.. also keep in mind if you don't have an account there (or long enough) you can always add to a current thread (of a similar issue).

    Sasha

    Cheers and all the best
